what can I say my heart just isn't in it. I want to lose weight but I want it to be easy, I want it to magically fall off my bones.. and not work for it.
well, that isn't going to happen.
I did make some wise choices in my shopping this evening and I hope I start seeing some better results. I am thrilled to be on the other side of 200 for one!
So... maybe some new goals are in order!
1. continue making wise choices while shopping, if the junk isn't in the house then I should be fine
2. walk. my 6 year old is in a wheelchair (temporarily) and bored stiff I really should get her out more and just walk her around the neighborhood some so she can see the world.
3. water water water. I was doing awesome with this, but for some reason while I'm still drinking water 98% of the time I'm just not drinking as much as I should even when I am thirsty because I'm sick of water.
4. make an actual menu plan weekly and stick to it, if I know what I'm eating ahead of time I don't go off on a snack binge
while I'm still seeing losses and no gains I'm just not thrilled with the progress and that is all on me. I need a more positive attitude towards healthiness!
I didn't update my ticker even this week I'm quite the slacker these days lol. but I am down another -2.5 pounds... not to shabby

Still Trucking
I did manage to lose about 28 pounds so far. Things got really hectic. I had surgery, hurt my ankle. yada yada yada. I missed a bunch of updates but plan to try to track weekly again. I weigh in a few days. I'm slowing down a bit it seems. I'm also not following a plan like I was in the beginning. Despite those things I never had a gain, and each week I see a loss even if its a tiny one. Next month I'm going to attempt OAMC and try to really get on top of things.

Week 3 Report (1/20-1/26)
Another week under the belt :)
Down -3.3 this week for a total of -13 pounds
I switched to WW plan. The calorie counting was stressing me out. WW is super easy with etools and apps. Much easier than the WW of the 80's lol.
I was surprised to see a loss I have had a cold and not really up on my exercise like id like to be. To be honest I'm not a fan of exercise. I love to walk and ride bikes or outdoor stuff but not so much an equipment user. I use the wiifit if the weather is bad otherwise I walk.
I plan to take new pics and measurements next week to see if a month has made any difference beyond the numbers on the scale. I do hope I have lost some inches or can really notice a difference. After that I plan to just do it for every 20 pounds lost.

Change up!
So I decided to make the switch to Weight Watchers. I was just stressing so much on Calorie counting with MFP. I am still using MFP to log as I have not officially joined weight watchers yet. I am just doing it at home with free calculator app and a dear friend told me what my points would be on the new program. I started yesterday and did well. It was rather ironic that the points consumed and the calories consumed where about the same lol. Counting the points is a little tricky and surely I'm making it more complicated then it needs to be but that is ok. I will get in the groove soon enough. I am battling with my knee issues so my exercise is down a bit from my 30 mins 3-5x a week goal. My knee was an issue long before my weight was an issue but having MORE weight on a bad knee sure doesn't help matters. I'm looking forward to this weeks weighing to hopefully see some results from the switch. Either way I will be happy if I don't gain.
And for added fun I found this site where I could do this.

That is a starting weight of 227 and a goal weight of 146. My original goal weight was 150 but I altered it based on the high end of what weight watchers says I should weigh.

Week 2 report (1/13-1/19)
This week I am down 1.6 pounds. Not a huge loss like last week but I stuck to my diet, I got some good exercise in, and it wasn't a gain. So all good things.
I still struggle with eating all my calories. Especially when I burn a lot of calories (since your supposed to eat back what you burn)
I know I didn't get fat by healthy eating or sticking to calories or exercising. But when you remove those things that caused you to gain it is HARD to eat so many calories. I think fast food was a big chunk of it. That supersized me guy had some good points lol.
I'm also dealing with injury so its kinda kept me semi inactive. I push through the exercising but have been spending more time laying down.
My goal for this week is mainly to rest when possible and to sleep at least 6 hours at night. I struggle with sleep patterns I have since I became a mother 13 years ago.
I have 10 weeks left in the challenge and 19 pounds to lose to hit my "end of challenge goal" I think its totally doable.

Week 1 Report (1/5-1/12)
Week 1 has come to an end. I feel wonderful. I went from a starting weight of 227.2 to 219.1! Thats a loss of 8.1 pounds!!! That is 3.6% of me gone..While I don't expect these results weekly its a good start.
The Key things and Accomplishments for the week are as follows..
1. I drank all my water
2. I didn't cave and drink any sweet tea
3. I'm finally below my pre pregnancy weight and my youngest is 3 lol
4. I met my exercise goals
What I need to work on
1. eating all my calories
2. eating and sleeping on a more consistent schedule
I have felt pretty great this week. The best part is I had NO migraines all week. This could also be contributed to some successfulness in some new parenting techniques but either way I'm happy about that.
I don't want to set unrealistic goals but Id really like to lose 2.4% on this next weigh in making my overall loss 5%

New beginnings
So I joined a 12 week weight loss challenge on a forum I belong to. Basically an online version of the biggest loser. We all paid an entry fee and cash prizes are awarded to the top three winners. While cash is great motivation of course my health is the biggest motivation. I plan to chronicle my weight loss journey for at least one year but I may keep going for longer so I can be sure I stay motivated. I am very anti weight loss surgery and I fully believe that with proper nutrition and exercise anyone can lose weight. Now I understand that some folks are to far gone that they need surgery to assist but if your like me and circling the bowl so to speak there is still time. don't give up, and don't gain more just so you might qualify for surgery. I have heard that people actually do that. So that is my motivation if I can inspire one person to do this with out surgery then I will call that a win.
So my stats. I am 5'3 and 227.2 pounds at my start. And well it ain't pretty. Here you get to see that.
My first weigh in was 1/5/2012 it took me 2 days to gather courage to take the pics. I think I will take monthly pics and monthly measurements. Weekly I will update my weight and what my diet/exercise was like for the week.
My measurements are as follows (taken on 1/5/12)
Bust 44
Chest 41
Waist 43
Hip 49
thigh 28 (larger than my 9 year olds waist )
Calves 17
Upper arm 15 1/2
Forearm 11 1/2
Neck 16 1/2
My long and short term goals
Short term (ie during this challenge)
1. 30 minutes of exercise 3x a week
2. Drink more water
3. Kick my sweet tea habit
4. Lose 2 inches preferably in the waist and not the boobs
5. Go down a dress size
6. Eat breakfast every day
7. Reach challenge goal weight of 199
8. Do C25K
Long term goals
1. Have my blood pressure under control without meds
2. Be a size 14 or smaller (as in just want to be out of the plus section)
3. Reach 150 pounds or less and maintain it
4. Have nice family photos done as I never have because I hate the way I look
5. Impress family next Christmas who complimented my sister 1,000 times on her weight loss
6. Run a 5k
7. I want my boobs to stick out further than my gut
Well there you have it. I will report in after my next weigh in and give you an overview of my week. and the results :)
